From its beginnings

John Ross established Balblair in 1790. The distillery moved to its present site in the 1870s to benefit from rail access and later returned to production after a long closure.

Balblair remains an operating Scotch whisky distillery at Edderton, Ross-shire. Its present identity joins the accumulated fabric of the site to an active production tradition, while discontinued bottlings belong to the range history rather than defining the distillery today.
