From its beginnings

The Harvey brothers founded the distillery in 1881. After repeated closures, an independent group reopened it in 2001 and restored much of the original machinery.

Bruichladdich remains an operating Scotch whisky distillery at Bruichladdich, Isle of Islay. Its present identity joins the accumulated fabric of the site to an active production tradition, while discontinued bottlings belong to the range history rather than defining the distillery today.
