Distinct house style

Glen Garioch is a robust eastern Highland malt with cereal weight, orchard fruit, spice, and an earthy character.
A sturdy eastern Highland make combines cereal weight, orchard fruit and spice; modern production is largely unpeated despite the distillery's smokier historical reputation.

History
From its beginnings
The Manson brothers established Glen Garioch in 1797 in the fertile Garioch valley. Several closures preceded a return to production in 1997.
Glen Garioch remains an operating Scotch whisky distillery at Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire. Its present identity joins the accumulated fabric of the site to an active production tradition, while discontinued bottlings belong to the range history rather than defining the distillery today.

Identity
The character
Glen Garioch belongs to the Highlands, but region is only a map reference. Its more informative identity comes from the production decisions above and from the way its spirit responds to maturation.
This distinction matters when reading a bottle: the distillery name identifies the origin of the spirit, while the expression, age, cask recipe and bottling strength describe the particular release.
