History

From its beginnings

Licensed in 1836, the distillery was purchased by John Grant in 1865. Six generations of the Grant family have maintained its independent ownership.

Glenfarclas remains an operating Scotch whisky distillery at Ballindalloch, Moray. Its present identity joins the accumulated fabric of the site to an active production tradition, while discontinued bottlings belong to the range history rather than defining the distillery today.
