History

From its beginnings

A distillery was founded at Craighouse in 1810 but later fell silent. Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith rebuilt it to support the island community, reopening production in 1963.

Jura remains an operating Scotch whisky distillery at Craighouse, Isle of Jura. Its present identity joins the accumulated fabric of the site to an active production tradition, while discontinued bottlings belong to the range history rather than defining the distillery today.
