Two traditional copper stills make a bright, citrus-and-cereal Highland spirit sold as anCnoc; separately scheduled peated batches broaden the house style.

History

From its beginnings

DCL founded Knockdhu in 1894 after springs were identified near Knock Hill. The anCnoc name was adopted in 1993 to avoid confusion with Knockando.

Knockdhu remains an operating Scotch whisky distillery at Knock, Aberdeenshire. Its present identity joins the accumulated fabric of the site to an active production tradition, while discontinued bottlings belong to the range history rather than defining the distillery today.

The working chronology begins in 1894; later closures, rebuilding or ownership changes are part of the individual history rather than a reason to reset that founding date.

Present day

Continuity is not stasis.
