From its beginnings

Brothers John and Hugh Stevenson founded the distillery in 1794 before the town grew around it. Its constrained urban site has kept production deliberately compact.

Oban remains an operating Scotch whisky distillery at Oban, Argyll. Its present identity joins the accumulated fabric of the site to an active production tradition, while discontinued bottlings belong to the range history rather than defining the distillery today.
